LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the LDA Avenue-1 Central Park, which spans 87 canals, by planting a sapling. This pilot project is part of a campaign to transform Lahore into the most eco-friendly residential city.
The Chief Minister was informed that innovative measures have been implemented to protect and enhance the environment in LDA Avenue-1 Society.
The Central Park of LDA Avenue-1, serving as a pilot model park, marks a significant step in this initiative. Additionally, it was noted that the park features a jogging track, walkways, a children’s play area, an open gym, and a badminton court, along with a cafeteria, mosque, and rose garden.
Solar street lights have been installed along the walkways. Additionally, designated vending points for food purchases have been established. Provisions for rainwater harvesting and cycling have also been made. A model cemetery has been constructed as well.
The Chief Minister was informed that the LDA Enforcement Squad is being provided with new uniforms, equipment, and machinery.
She also inspected the LDA upgraded enforcement squad. She gave keys of new bikes to the enforcement squad on this occasion.
