LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed strong displeasure over violations of the one-dish rule at wedding events. She has directed Deputy Commissioners across the province to ensure strict implementation of the rule.

The rule will also apply to wedding events held at farmhouses and private properties. The administration has been ordered to closely monitor compliance with the rule in all areas.

The Chief Minister emphasized that violating the one-dish rule at weddings places a financial burden on families who cannot afford multiple dishes. She also highlighted the negative social impacts of serving more than one dish at such events.

She said that the administration should ensure the implementation of the one-dish ban in the relevant areas at all costs. If a violation of the one-dish rule is found, the relevant Deputy Commissioner will be held responsible.

In another news, the Lahore High Court has issued a detailed judgment in the case related to the killing of stray dogs. Justice Jawad Hassan issued a six-page judgment, in which it has been directed to give a comfortable and better death to incurable and dangerous dogs.

The court said that the dogs should be killed as per the guidelines of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council to avoid unnecessary suffering.

The court’s decision reviewed the ongoing dog-killing campaign in Rawalpindi while considering the appeal of the petitioners. The petitioners had requested to stop the campaign, while the authorities said that this operation was launched based on complaints from citizens.

The court directed the government to adopt alternative methods to prevent stray dog bites.

According to the Veterinary Officer of Rawalpindi, the lives of citizens are facing serious threats due to the increasing attacks by stray dogs, which led to the launch of this operation.
