ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a medium-level alert for possible urban flooding in parts of Punjab and Sindh due to expected heavy monsoon rains over the next two days.
According to the NDMA and updated weather maps, strong rain-wind/thunderstorms, including isolated heavy downpours and hailstorms, are likely in major cities of both provinces from June 26 to June 28.
Urban flooding is likely in parts of Punjab, with heavy monsoon rains forecast between June 27 and 28. The cities most at risk include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.
In Sindh, the threat of flooding remains significant from June 26 to 28, especially in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Sujawal, Jamshoro, Nawabshah, and Larkana, where strong rain showers and thunderstorms are expected.
