RAWALPINDI: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched a major project to provide assistive devices for special individuals.
At the event, Maryam Nawaz brought Aqil, who lost an arm in an accident, to the stage. Aqil used a new arm that moves with brain signals for the first time.
Young Sohail also gave a high-five to the Chief Minister. Maryam Nawaz distributed motorized wheelchairs, tri-wheel scooters, and other assistive devices, encouraging the recipients.
Over 300 special individuals from across Punjab attended the event. The province will provide artificial limbs, hearing aids, wheelchairs, and other devices worth one billion rupees free of cost.

Special individuals will receive manual wheelchairs, rollators, tricycles, electric and motorized wheelchairs, tri-motorcycles, walking frames, mobile toilet chairs, and controlled wheelchairs. Hearing aids and artificial limbs will also be provided as needed.
Two young girls, Aiza and Ayesha, welcomed the Chief Minister with bouquets. Maryam Nawaz sat among the special individuals, spending time with a young girl and showing affection.
Children with speech impairments presented the national anthem and Quranic recitation in sign language. Provincial Minister Sohail Shaukat Butt spoke about the project details at the event.
