ISLAMABAD: A three-judge panel of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected a petition seeking to disqualify Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in the Tyrian White case.
Today, a newly constituted IHC bench heard the plea against the former prime minister, accusing him of failing to disclose his alleged daughter in the nomination papers submitted for the 2018 general elections.
The case was heard by a bench consisting of Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, Justice Arbab Mohammad Tahir, and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz.
The case had been pending since May 2023, following the dissolution of the initial three-member bench by IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq. This decision came after the differing opinions of two judges on the plea’s maintainability were posted on the court’s website.
The bench, which included IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, had reserved the verdict in the case on March 30 of the previous year. However, Justices Kayani and Tahir expressed their views against the petition’s maintainability and posted their opinions on the IHC official website, which were subsequently removed.
