LAHORE: A special meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif reviewed the progress of the Lahore Development Plan. The CM assigned the task of completing the plan on time to the Senior Minister and Chief Secretary, directing them to set a monthly timeline.
The meeting discussed the first phase of the plan, which includes the construction and repair of 3,705 streets under the Lahore Municipal Corporation and 230 roads managed by the Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) by June 30. Additionally, the repair and construction of 1,573 streets under WASA were given a deadline of July 31.
The second phase covers street construction and repair in Allama Iqbal Town, Aziz Bhatti Town, and Wahga Town, along with other development projects.
CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif stressed that delays in development projects affect people’s daily lives. She said, “I consider myself accountable to the public and cannot see them facing difficulties.”

In a separate meeting, the CM met with the Netherlands Ambassador, Henny de Vries. They discussed bilateral relations and trade opportunities. Maryam Nawaz noted that the trade volume of $2.3 billion between Pakistan and the Netherlands is satisfactory.
The CM emphasized completing the Lahore Development Plan on priority and instructed all departments to avoid delays in public service projects.
