In another major step towards improving road safety, the Islamabad Traffic Police will start using drone cameras to catch traffic rule violations on main roads. Chief Traffic Officer (Rtd.) Captain Zeeshan Haider said the drones will first be used on Islamabad Expressway and Srinagar Highway, and later on other roads and sectors across the city.
He said the drones will help police quickly spot traffic violations and issue challans on the spot. The system will also help reduce traffic jams and accidents by identifying crowded areas, so special teams can be sent right away.
