ISLAMABAD: Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has increased the prices of its entire vehicle lineup following the implementation of the Federal Budget 2025–26. The new prices came into effect from July 1, 2025, as announced in an official circular issued by the company.

The company has clarified that the price hike is solely due to government-imposed taxes and levies under the new Finance Act 2025, particularly the NEV (New Energy Vehicle) Levy, and not due to any increase in production or economic costs. The NEV levy, which targets all internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, has significantly impacted retail prices across all major car models.

Under the new policy, ICE vehicles—including motorcycles and cars—are subject to a new tax structure:

  • 1% NEV levy on vehicles up to 1,300cc

  • 2% on 1,301cc to 1,800cc

  • 3% on vehicles above 1,800cc

Additionally, vehicles are now taxed at 18% standard sales tax (up from 12.5% for some small vehicles) and a separate 1% ad valorem levy for cars below 1,300cc. The Suzuki Cultus, for example, with a 1,000cc engine, falls under the 1% NEV and ad valorem brackets.

Electric vehicles, hybrids, diplomatic vehicles, and export-only models are exempted from the NEV levy.

According to the PSMC circular, the updated prices also include the Federal Excise Duty (FED), Sales Tax, and NEV Levy but exclude Advance Income Tax.

Here is a summary of the revised prices:
