ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Market Committee has released the latest price list for vegetables, fruits, and chicken for Sunday, February 23, 2025.
The updated list includes essential kitchen staples such as tomatoes, potatoes, onions, garlic, and ginger. Consumers can find some relief as prices for several items have dropped notably compared to the previous month. Carrots, potatoes, and ginger have also become more affordable.
This daily price update is aimed at ensuring transparency and fair pricing in the market. Residents are encouraged to check the official rates before purchasing and report any cases of overcharging or irregularities to the relevant authorities.
Islamabad’s fruit and vegetable market (Sabzi Mandi) remains a key hub for produce sourced from across Pakistan. Supplies come from various cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with remote areas of Balochistan and Sindh. Additionally, seasonal produce from Gilgit-Baltistan and imports from Iran and Afghanistan are available. The market caters to both local shopkeepers in Islamabad and bulk buyers from surrounding regions.
Many residents prefer shopping at Sabzi Mandi over smaller markets due to its competitive prices on fresh produce. To ensure consistency and fairness across Islamabad’s markets, the administration publishes a daily updated price list for consumers’ reference.
