LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has decided to introduce ‘Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services’ to improve healthcare in the province.
Under her leadership in a recent meeting, it was announced that these services will undertake 19 significant health initiatives. Additionally, outsourcing will be used to enlist the services of 20,000 health inspectors.
The Lady Health Worker Program will also be integrated with Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services, with plans to include 39,000 Lady Health Workers in this force. The overall workforce of Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services will comprise over 60,000 individuals.
These services will administer essential vaccinations, including polio, maintain reliable records of diseases and patients, and complete mapping tasks through Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services.
During the briefing at the meeting, it was highlighted that the current health services are reaching 47% of the population, with 53% remaining uncovered.

Moreover, 93% of patients are satisfied with the improvements in the healthcare sector. The Chief Minister has requested a comprehensive plan for the Community Health Services and issued necessary directives for its activation.
Furthermore, on the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the Chief Minister expressed that the preservation of mother languages is crucial for our cultural autonomy and intellectual freedom.
Punjab Institute of Language, Art, and Culture has been further activated to promote and advance mother languages. The Punjab government is committed to the development and promotion of mother languages.
The Chief Minister also expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the laborers who tragically lost their lives due to a collapsed iron furnace in Islamabad.
She has instructed for the best possible treatment for the injured laborers and requested a report from the Commissioner of Gujranwala regarding the incident.
