Islamabad’s fruit and vegetable market (Sabzi Mandi) remains a key hub for produce sourced from across Pakistan. Supplies come from various cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with remote areas of Balochistan and Sindh. Additionally, seasonal produce from Gilgit-Baltistan and imports from Iran and Afghanistan are available. The market caters to both local shopkeepers in Islamabad and bulk buyers from surrounding regions.

Many residents prefer shopping at Sabzi Mandi over smaller markets due to its competitive prices on fresh produce. To ensure consistency and fairness across Islamabad’s markets, the administration publishes a daily updated price list for consumers’ reference.

Meanwhile, Kinnow, which has been in season for several weeks, is now in short supply and is expected to remain available for only another one to two weeks. Due to its limited availability, prices are rising, with Special Kinnow priced between PKR 400 and 418 per dozen, Grade A Kinnow selling at a maximum of PKR 305 per dozen, and Grade B at PKR 170 per dozen. As the season winds down, farm production is also slowing.
