ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Market Committee has released the latest price list for vegetables, fruits, and chicken for Monday, February 17, 2025.
The list includes essential kitchen staples such as tomatoes, potatoes, onions, garlic, and ginger.
Consumers can expect some relief as prices for tomatoes, cabbage, and cauliflower have seen a significant drop compared to last month. Additionally, carrots, potatoes, and ginger have become more budget-friendly.
This daily price update aims to ensure transparency and fair pricing in the market. Residents are encouraged to check the official rates before making purchases and to report any instances of overcharging or irregularities to the relevant authorities.
Islamabad’s fruit and vegetable market (Sabzi Mandi) continues to serve as a central hub for produce sourced from across Pakistan. Supplies are brought in from various cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as remote regions of Balochistan and Sindh. Seasonal produce from Gilgit-Baltistan and imports from Iran and Afghanistan are also available. The market caters to both local shopkeepers in Islamabad and bulk buyers from surrounding areas.
Many residents prefer shopping at the Sabzi Mandi over smaller markets due to the availability of fresh produce at competitive prices. To maintain consistency and fairness, the market administration releases a daily price list for the city.
