ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Market Committee has released the latest price list for vegetables, fruits, and poultry for Saturday, March 1, 2025.
The revised rates cover essential kitchen items, including tomatoes, potatoes, onions, garlic, and ginger. Consumers can expect some relief as prices for several commodities have declined compared to the January, with carrots, potatoes, and ginger becoming more affordable.
This daily price update aims to promote transparency and fair pricing in the market. Residents are advised to check the official price list before making purchases and report any cases of overpricing or irregularities to the relevant authorities.
Islamabad’s main fruit and vegetable market (Sabzi Mandi) remains a vital trading hub, sourcing produce from across Pakistan, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Sindh. Additionally, seasonal produce from Gilgit-Baltistan and imports from Iran and Afghanistan are available. The market caters to both local retailers and wholesale buyers from nearby regions.
Many shoppers prefer Sabzi Mandi over smaller markets due to its competitive prices on fresh produce. To maintain consistency and fairness in pricing, the administration issues a daily updated price list for consumer reference.
