PCB Faces Backlash for Excluding Cricketing Legend, Imran Khan, from Historical Video

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in the midst of a public outcry following its decision to omit cricketing icon Imran Khan from a video detailing the history of the sport.

Khan, aged 70, a revered former cricket luminary, who achieved national acclaim by steering Pakistan to a resounding victory in the Cricket World Cup of 1992, has been noticeably absent from the said video.

Imran Khan’s journey is intertwined with both cricketing excellence and political prominence. Having transitioned from a distinguished cricket career to a role as a statesman, he assumed the mantle of Pakistan’s prime minister from 2018 to 2022, making significant contributions to the nation’s governance.

Currently, Khan finds himself entangled in a legal predicament, serving time behind bars on corruption charges. Convicted in the Toshakhana case, a court found him guilty and handed down a three-year prison sentence. Subsequently, the election commission dealt him a blow by disqualifying him from pursuing any electoral office for a duration of five years.
