RAWALPINDI: Security forces in an operation in Khyber district, as per the military’s media wing, eliminated at least three militants on Monday.
According to a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Khyber District, acting on reported militant presence.
The statement noted a significant exchange of fire between armed forces and terrorists during the operation.
In the course of the gun battle, three militants, including terrorist leaders Sohail (alias Azmato) and Haji Gul (alias Zarkavi), were neutralized.
ISPR mentioned that the militants’ hideout was dismantled, and weapons and ammunition were seized from the deceased insurgents. The individuals targeted in the operation had been actively engaged in various terrorist activities in the region.
Additionally, forces conducted a sanitization operation to ensure the elimination of any other terrorists in the area.
