HYDERABAD – A bull named ‘JF-17 Thunder’, weighing 40 maunds (approximately 1,600 kg), has been sold for a record-breaking price of Rs. 5 million in Liaquat Colony, Hyderabad, just days before Eid-ul-Adha. This is being called the most expensive bull sale in Pakistan’s history.
According to a private TV channel, the bull was raised by local cattle trader Shah Rukh. He named the animal after Pakistan’s famous fighter jet, JF-17 Thunder, due to its strong build and heavy weight.
Before giving the bull to the buyer, Shah Rukh held a special farewell event. A tent was decorated for the occasion, and the guests who came with the buyer were welcomed warmly. People exchanged garlands made of currency notes and flowers. Sindhi ajraks were also given as gifts, following local traditions usually seen during celebrations.
Many people from nearby areas came to see the large and beautiful bull. They took selfies and enjoyed the festive mood.

Every year on Eid-ul-Adha, people purchase sacrificial animals based on their budget. However, some animal owners raise special animals with extra care and attention. These animals are later sold at very high prices. They are often given desi ghee, butter, dry fruits, and other expensive food items, which makes them more valuable.
