JAMSHORO: Police have filed cases against several nationalist protesters who attacked the convoy of First Lady and Member of National Assembly Aseefa Bhutto Zardari near Jamshoro Toll Plaza.
The incident happened while Aseefa Bhutto was traveling from Karachi to Nawabshah. Protesters, who were demonstrating against a canal project and corporate farming, stopped the convoy on the M-9 Motorway. They threw stones and used sticks to hit the vehicles.
Video footage of the attack went viral on social media. According to police, the protest turned violent near Benazir Gate, where the road was also blocked.

Jamshoro SSP Zafar Siddiq said that 16 people have been named in the FIR and cases have been registered against 60 unknown individuals for disturbing peace, blocking the road, and interfering in official duties. Some suspects have already been arrested, and police operations are ongoing to catch the rest.
The SSP added that the police team in the convoy quickly acted and safely moved Aseefa Bhutto’s vehicle within a minute of the attack.
