RAWALPINDI: The Home Department has started an awareness campaign for young children called “Safe Children, Safe Punjab,” following the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab.
According to the details, the Home Department created an animated series to teach children about “Good Touch and Bad Touch” The first episode was released.
The series features two main characters, Haya and Bahadur, who are young children. They will help spread awareness and teach other children how to stay safe from sexual abuse. Haya and Bahadur will show children how to understand what is appropriate and inappropriate physical behavior.
The campaign includes a message to help children feel confident: “We won’t be scared of those who try a bad touch; we’ll stand up to them.” A spokesperson from the Home Department Punjab said this campaign will be important in protecting children from abuse and exploitation.
The spokesperson also said, “With proper education, children can identify inappropriate behavior and report it quickly.” Punjab Home Secretary Noor ul Amin Mengal instructed the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau to lead this awareness effort actively.

In the past, the department suggested adding lessons on “Good Touch, Bad Touch” to school curriculums, showing the government’s commitment to keeping children safe over time.

The spokesperson highlighted the need to teach children about personal safety and asked parents, teachers, and everyone in society to join this important effort. “Children who experience sexual abuse often face long-term trauma, so awareness programs are very important,” he said.
The campaign also asks the public to get involved and help keep children safe while ensuring that those who commit abuse are punished by law.
Parents and teachers are encouraged to use the campaign’s materials to teach children how to recognize and report abuse, whether it happens at home or elsewhere.
Separately, the Punjab Inclusive Governance Summit 2025 was held on Wednesday at the Punjab Assembly building, organized by the Youth Development Foundation (YDF).
The summit focused on promoting transparent, accountable, and inclusive governance, ensuring minority communities are part of decision-making.

The Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Ahmad Khan, was the chief guest. The event had participation from government officials, civil society members, minority leaders, and youth advocating for social change.
It began with welcome remarks by Urooj Jahangir, Project Manager of the M-CAP Project, followed by prayers from Bishop Nadeem Kamran of the Church of Pakistan, Lahore.
Notable guests included Asiya Gul, Special Secretary for Local Government, Ali Bahadur Qazi, Secretary for Human Rights and Minority Affairs, and Dr. Shoaib Akbar, Chief Instructor at MPDD.
A progress report was shared on the NED-funded project, “Strengthening Civic Participation and Governance in Minority Communities.” This project trained over 300 minority representatives across 46 union councils in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, and Sargodha. It also set up 80 Union Council Forums and four District Governance Forums to address local issues effectively.
