Initially, more than 1,000 books were kept in these racks at 15 different places for the people of Wazirabad and travelers coming from other cities, while 1,000 more books will be added in the next two to three months.
The main objective of this program is to provide a healthy activity through reading books to people sitting in parks or waiting at bus and train stations.
“Rainproof sheets” have been installed on these racks to protect the books from rain and weather effects.
Under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to highlight the culture of small towns, special walls have been built to depict the history and culture of the city in Wazirabad Tehsil, which has now been given the status of a district.
