RAWALPINDI: Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaqat Ali Chattha has announced his resignation from his post, accepting responsibility for the election rigging in the Rawalpindi division during the February 8 elections.
In a press conference held in Rawalpindi on Saturday, he also announced his resignation from his post.
While speaking to the media, he stated that the candidates who lost actually won by 70,000 votes.
He further explained that they managed to turn around the results, giving the defeated candidates a lead of 50,000 votes.
Liaquat Ali Chatta has acknowledged his responsibility for the election rigging in 13 seats of Rawalpindi.
Additionally, he accused the Chief Election Commissioner of involvement in the rigging.
He apologized to his subordinates, admitting that he instructed them to engage in wrongdoing.
