RAWALPINDI: Holidays have been declared in government and private schools across Punjab on May 9 and 10, 2025.
According to the details, due to the tension between Pakistan and India, the Punjab government has declared holidays in all schools, colleges, and universities from tomorrow. A formal notification has also been issued.
Today, work was carried out as usual in all educational institutions in Punjab. It was announced on Thursday evening that all educational institutions will be closed from tomorrow until Sunday, May 11.
Schools across Punjab have been given holidays until May 11. Now, schools, colleges, and universities will reopen on May 12.
The Secretary of the Punjab Higher Education Department said today that schools are being closed for two days.
The holiday orders apply to schools, colleges, and universities. Schools, colleges, and universities will remain closed tomorrow, May 9 and 10, and May 11 will be a holiday due to Sunday. Now, educational institutions will reopen on May 12.

School Holidays in Punjab on 9th, 10th May 2025:
All educational institutions across Punjab will remain closed on Friday and Saturday due to security concerns, with classes resuming on Monday, 12th May. The Punjab Education Minister confirmed the holiday applies to schools, colleges, and universities amid the current law and order situation.
According to a private TV report, a statement issued by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said that the closure of educational institutions has been announced in view of the deteriorating law and order situation.
The provincial education minister said that all educational institutions will remain closed on Friday and Saturday. The holiday orders apply to all schools, colleges, and universities, while teaching will resume in educational institutions across Punjab from Monday, May 12.
On the other hand, due to the tense situation between Pakistan and India, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shifted the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 to Karachi.

According to the details, the match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi scheduled for today in Rawalpindi has been postponed.
The PCB has decided that there is also an option to shift the remaining matches to Dubai if the need arises in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Army spokesperson Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated that India carried out another act of aggression late on the night between May 7 and 8. Pakistan’s armed forces intercepted and shot down all 12 Indian Heron drones. In Lahore, a drone attack injured four soldiers, while in Mianwali, one civilian was killed and another was wounded.
During a media briefing, the spokesperson for the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that India violated Pakistan’s airspace once again the previous night. All 12 drones sent by India into different cities were successfully shot down.

The military spokesperson confirmed that Indian drones were downed near Lahore, Gujranwala, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Attock, Bahawalpur, Mianwali, Chhor, and Karachi. Debris from the drones is still being collected.
He added that, unfortunately, one drone in Lahore managed to target a military installation, injuring four soldiers and causing partial damage to equipment.
