ISLAMABAD – An emergency meeting of the Islamabad district administration was held under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad. All Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs), Assistant Commissioners (ACs), and magistrates attended the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to review preparations and take safety measures for any possible emergency situation.
Officials informed the meeting that emergency sirens are being installed on all major buildings in the city. Specific places have been marked to serve as shelters in case of emergencies. A 24/7 control room has been set up at the Safe City Complex to monitor the situation and respond quickly when needed.
Hospitals have been directed to fully implement emergency ward rules, and blood donation camps have been established in various hospitals to ensure blood is available during critical times. The Market Committee has completed arrangements to maintain a proper stock of vegetables, pulses, and other essential food items. Similarly, a plan has been prepared to ensure an extra fuel supply at petrol pumps.

The meeting also decided to provide training to young people so they can serve as volunteers in emergency situations. DC Islamabad directed all officers to stay alert and keep a close eye on the situation. Citizens have been requested to immediately contact the district control room in case of any emergency.
In addition, due to the current security situation in the country, the Islamabad district administration has announced the closure of all educational institutions — including schools, colleges, universities, and training institutes — for the next two days. However, examinations already in progress at these institutions will continue as scheduled. A formal notification has been issued in this regard.
