RAWALPINDI: Around 3,000 Sikh Yatris (pilgrims) from India are set to arrive in Pakistan on November 14 to celebrate the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.
The President of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, along with Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs, Ramesh Singh Arora, and officials from the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), will welcome the pilgrims at the Wagah Border.
The visitors will be extended warm greetings and provided with the best possible facilities. The main event to mark the founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary will take place on November 15 at Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Nanak, where thousands of Sikh devotees are expected to gather.

Comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure the safety and comfort of the pilgrims, including top-notch medical, residential, and travel facilities, along with tight security measures, the officials said.
Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora previously stated that this year, the celebrations of Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary will be made historic.
He mentioned that the Chief Minister of Punjab has increased the budget for the Department of Minority Affairs by 200% to ensure adequate arrangements for Sikh pilgrims’ security and other needs.
The Minister for Minority Affairs also shared that in December, 50,000 families will receive Minority Cards. He confirmed that this time, 3,000 Sikh pilgrims from India will be coming to Pakistan.
