ISLAMABAD: The Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad (MCI) has unveiled its strategy to establish six temporary cattle markets across the federal capital to facilitate the trading of sacrificial animals during Eid ul Adha 2024.
An auction for the allocation of these market sites is scheduled to take place at the DMA office on Thursday, May 9, 2024. Interested parties are invited to participate in the auction by submitting their bids along with the necessary documentation.
Three Large and Three Small Markets to be Created
As per MCI officials, three large cattle markets will be erected at designated spots in Sangjani, Sector I-15, and Sector I-12. Additionally, three smaller markets will be established in Bahara Kahu, near the Sultana Foundation, and on the Islamabad Expressway.
Markets Operational from Dhul Hijjah 1 to 13
The cattle markets will commence operations from Dhul Hijjah 1 and will continue functioning until Dhul Hijjah 13. A fee of PKR 500 will be applicable for each large animal, while PKR 250 will be charged for each small animal brought to the markets.
