According to a report from Private Media, the Punjab Education Minister stated that the summer holidays will be observed from June 7, 2024, to August 19, 2024. This means schools will be closed for more than two months in all cities of Punjab.
These vacations, spanning more than two months every year, aim to protect students from the scorching heat.
With temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius in Lahore and expected to rise further in the coming days, there is a risk of heatstroke and dehydration, endangering students’ lives. This is why the administration chooses to close schools across the province for over two months.
