LAHORE: With less than a week until the start of Ramadan, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced restricted gas supply hours during the holy month due to anticipated load-shedding.
According to a statement from SSGC, gas will only be available from 3:00am to 9:00am (Sahar) and 3:00pm to 10:00pm (Iftaar) during Ramadan. Consumers in Sindh and Balochistan will have access to gas for only 13 hours daily.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has instructed electricity distribution companies to refrain from implementing load-shedding during Sahar and Iftar times. This directive was issued during a meeting chaired by the chief minister to discuss price control during Ramadan. The meeting was attended by Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, the chief secretary, IG Police, and other senior officials.
During the meeting, Murad Ali Shah emphasized the importance of uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the province during Ramadan and directed K-Electric, HESCO, and SEPCO to ensure consistent electricity supply during the holy month.
