RAWALPINDI: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir, NI (M), undertook a visit to the Awaran district of Balochistan, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) media wing on Friday.
During the visit, COAS was apprised of the security situation and the Pakistan Army’s endeavors in fostering socio-economic development and harnessing the agricultural potential of the province.
According to the ISPR statement, COAS engaged with local elders, farmers, and families of the fallen heroes, assuring them of the Army’s unwavering commitment to their security and well-being. He paid homage to the sacrifices made by the fallen heroes.
In discussions with the notable figures and farmers of Awaran, COAS underscored the significance of agriculture and reaffirmed the Army’s dedication to the Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI).
He pledged comprehensive agricultural support to farmers, including easy access to agricultural loans, seeds, fertilizers, solar tube wells, and guidance from agriculture experts, aiming to empower them to contribute to Pakistan’s progress and development.
Subsequently, COAS inaugurated Cadet College Awaran and engaged with faculty members and students. He commended the establishment of another Cadet College in Balochistan, emphasizing Pakistan Army’s commitment to ongoing developmental and relief efforts in collaboration with relevant civil departments.
COAS stated, “The success of Balochistan is synonymous with the success of Pakistan. The resilient people of Balochistan have earned the pride of the nation by standing resilient against adversity.
The Armed Forces of Pakistan and Law Enforcement Agencies will continue to extend their services in support of the people of Balochistan for peace and prosperity.” Upon arrival, COAS was received by the Corps Commander Balochistan Corps.
