LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed officials to fix new roti (bread) prices according to the recent decrease in flour rates. She said that the benefits of cheaper flour must reach the common people and that roti prices should be reduced accordingly.

The chief minister also ordered strict monitoring of prices for chicken, vegetables, and pulses. She expressed concern over rising chicken prices, saying, “Earlier, a poor child could afford to eat chicken once a week. Now it has become so expensive that even that one day is no longer possible. I cannot accept this.”
