The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has started a licensing system in Punjab for the first time.
According to a PMDC spokesperson, a regional office has been opened in Lahore to help with medical and dental registration. The online registration system is also now active.
Because of this new setup, doctors in Punjab no longer need to travel to Islamabad for their registration. All registration services are now available at the PMDC office in Lahore.
PMDC President Dr Rizwan Taj said that this is a historic step for the licensing system in Pakistan.
In a statement, the PMDC said that full support will be provided to applicants through the online portal. Original certificates will be delivered to practitioners via TCS.
