ISLAMABAD: The Federal Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), in collaboration with the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), has launched the first-ever summer sports camp exclusively for students of Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) schools.
According to a press release from PSB, students from all educational zones in Islamabad are actively participating in the camp. The two-week training camp is being held at the Pakistan Sports Complex from June 30 to July 11. Students are learning four indoor games: volleyball, table tennis, chess, and badminton.
Girls take part in the training from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, and boys join from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. Coaches from the Pakistan Sports Board are helping and training the students.
Originally planned for 350 to 400 participants, the camp has surpassed expectations with over 500 students enrolled so far. Registrations are continuing daily, indicating strong interest and participation from FDE students.
To encourage involvement, the IPC ministry is providing track suits to all attendees. Additionally, education officers have arranged transportation services for students, enhancing the accessibility of the initiative.
The camp aims to reduce screen time among students by promoting physical activities that encourage discipline, healthy competition, and teamwork. It serves as a role model for promoting healthy lifestyles and extracurricular engagement in the federal capital.
