PESHAWAR: The Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) issued a new directive on Sunday regarding adjustments to school timings for Ramadan 2024.
According to the revised schedule, all primary schools in the province will start classes at 7:30 am and end at 11:10 am, except on Fridays when they will conclude at 10:05 am.
As per the official notice, middle, secondary, and higher secondary schools will commence at 7:30 am and end at 12:15 pm, with Friday’s conclusion scheduled for 10:25 am during Ramadan.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to convene in Peshawar on March 11, 2024, to sight the Ramadan moon. Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, the committee’s chairman, will preside over the meeting starting after Asr prayers.
Additionally, zonal committees will meet in their respective areas to receive and evaluate moon sighting reports.
If the crescent is sighted, Ramadan will begin on March 12, 2024 (Tuesday). Ramadan is revered as the month when the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), observed by Muslims with prayers and fasting from sunrise (Fajr) to sunset (Maghreb).
