PESHAWAR: A wild bear in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KPK) Mansehra district has killed a mother of three children.
According to a media report, a bear attacked and seriously injured a woman named Razia in the Juggan area of Balakot tehsil in the Mansehra district at 8:00 am on Thursday.
According to the police, Razia was rushed to Balakot Hospital in an injured state, and the doctors sent her to Mansehra Hospital, but she died on the way due to her injuries.
As per the report, the relatives of the deceased woman staged a protest demonstration in front of the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) office and demanded action against the responsible officials.
The relatives said that bear attacks are now becoming common in the area; however, the officials of the wildlife department are not taking any steps in this regard.
They demanded the police to register an FIR against the wildlife staff of the concerned circle. The citizens made it clear to the police that if they saw any bear near the future population, they would shoot it.
Later, DSP Mohammad Farooq held talks with the protesters, and the family members ended the protest on their conviction. DSP Muhammad Farooq said that the 35-year-old woman was a mother of 3 children. Their youngest daughter is two months old.
