The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia had earlier called on citizens to sight the Ramadan moon on Sunday.
According to Arab media, the crescent moon was sighted on Sunday evening in the Sudair and Al-Hariq observatories. This sighting was confirmed, and Ramadan will also start on Monday in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, where the moon was likewise visible.
In Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, and Oman, the Ramadan moon was not sighted on Sunday. In these countries, the first day of Ramadan will be on March 12.
