ISLAMABAD: The Federal College of Education (FCE) has been in a state of disarray due to the frequent changes in management and makeshift arrangements.
The instability has had a significant impact on the efficiency of the college, leaving staff and students struggling to keep up with their training programs.
In an effort to address the situation, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has made an experimental move by appointing Professor Muhammad Ihsan ul Haq, who is already a Principal at Islamabad Model College for Boys F-10/3, as the interim head of FCE. This comes after Ms. Saba Faisal, who was also a Principal at Islamabad Model College for Girls F-10/2, was removed from her temporary position as head of FCE after just two months.
The decision to remove Ms. Faisal followed a series of transitional appointments that have resulted in a lack of stability and a detrimental impact on the college’s functioning. Dr. Samia Rehman Dogar, who was a Professor at FCE, was placed at Islamabad Model College for Girls G-10/4 on attachment basis.
The college’s telephone and internet connections have also been severed due to non-payment of bills, adding to the disruption and leaving staff and students disconnected from crucial communication channels.
The situation at FCE remains uncertain, with stakeholders calling for a more permanent solution to be implemented to restore stability and ensure the efficient functioning of the college.
