FIASALABAD: An armed attack took place at the Saddar Tandlianwala police station in Faisalabad in the early hours of the morning, during which unknown suspects opened indiscriminate fire on prisoners in custody.
As a result of the incident, three brothers from the Sukhera community—Bilal, Usman, and Nasir—were killed, while their cousin Asif was injured.
According to the police, six suspects entered the police station by climbing a ladder from the back wall and locked all the police station rooms from the outside. After that, they opened fire on the prisoners in custody.
The deceased prisoners were in custody for murder case number 1209/24, in which they were arrested from the City Tandlianwala police station. They were accused of killing members of the Kharal community. In view of the long-standing enmity between the victims, they were kept in the custody of the Saddar police station.
The suspects managed to escape after the firing, but as soon as the information was received, a large contingent of police, including the CPO Faisalabad, reached the spot.
