ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced the summer vacation schedule for all Islamabad Model Schools and Colleges, including former F.G. institutions.
According to a notification issued by the FDE, summer holidays will start from June 5, 2025, and continue till August 1, 2025. All institutions will reopen on Monday, August 4, 2025.
Islamabad Revised School Timings Before Holidays:
From May 26, 2025, single-shift schools will run classes from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Double-shift schools have been told to adjust their timings accordingly.
Important Instructions from FDE:

Homework: Schools must give holiday homework to students, using samples from last year.

Teacher Training: School heads must ensure teachers attend training sessions. Schedules will be shared 3–4 days earlier.

HRMIS Update: All schools must update staff data on the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS).

Repair Work: All repair and maintenance work in schools should be completed during the summer break.
Higher Education Programs:
Classes for undergraduate programs such as BS and ADP will continue as per their regular semester calendars and will not be affected by the vacation.
Summer Activities in Schools:

Tech Boot Camps: Schools are asked to hold Summer Tech Boot Camps in their IT labs.

Libraries and Labs: These will stay open for students during the break.

Project Work: Focal persons must stay available for ongoing projects like IT initiatives, missing facilities, and the “Summer Fiesta.”

Islamabad Staff Timings During Holidays:
Administrative staff will follow reduced hours from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM during the vacation period.
Islamabad Schools, Colleges Summer Holidays Dates:

Sindh, Punjab and KP Schools Summer Vacations:
In Sindh, the government has also announced summer holidays for all public and private schools and colleges under the School Education & Literacy Department.
According to a notification issued on May 22, 2025, holidays will start from June 1 and end on July 31.
This decision was made during a meeting of the Sub-Committee of the Steering Committee on Education held on November 28, 2024.
The summer vacation schedule in Sindh will apply to all government and private schools and colleges in the province. The Sindh government has also announced a public holiday on May 28 to mark the Day of Takbeer.

Earlier, The Punjab government has announced summer holidays for all public and private schools from May 28 to August 14, 2025. Schools across the province will reopen on August 15 after the summer break.
However, the Education Department of KP has also issued the summer vacation schedule. In plain areas, holidays will be from June 15 to August 31. In hilly or upper areas, schools will remain closed from July 1 to July 31.

Govt launches ‘good touch, bad touch’ drive for child safety:
The Punjab Home Department has launched a new awareness campaign for children called “Safe Children, Safe Punjab,” in line with the vision of the Chief Minister.
According to the details, the campaign includes an animated series aimed at teaching children about the concept of “Good Touch and Bad Touch.” The first episode of the series has been released.
The series introduces two child characters, Haya and Bahadur, who guide young viewers in understanding safe and unsafe physical contact. They will help children learn how to protect themselves from sexual abuse.
The campaign also shares a confidence-building message for children: “We won’t be scared of those who try a bad touch; we’ll stand up to them.” A spokesperson from the Home Department said the campaign is an important step toward protecting children from abuse and exploitation.
The spokesperson added that through education, children will be able to recognize inappropriate behavior and report it in time. Punjab Home Secretary Noor ul Amin Mengal has directed the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau to lead the awareness activities.
Earlier, the department also proposed including lessons on “Good Touch, Bad Touch” in school textbooks, showing the government’s continued focus on child safety.
On the other hand, With rising temperatures in Karachi, health issues are also increasing. A TV report says that cases of diarrhea are going up, especially among children.
Dr. Waseem Jamalvi, President of the Pakistan Pediatric Association Sindh, said that dozens of children suffering from diarrhea are being brought to government hospitals daily.
Health experts are advising parents to keep children well-hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during the hottest hours of the day.
