ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has sanctioned time scale promotions for up to 529 teachers in federal government educational institutions operating within the jurisdiction of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).
As per yesterday’s issued notification, 529 teachers, including vice principals, principals, and associate professors of schools and colleges, have been elevated to the next grade through time scale promotion.
A Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting was convened on January 5, 2024, to formulate the time scale for government educational institution teachers. However, the notification’s issuance was delayed for various reasons. Secretary of Education Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani promptly instructed the immediate issuance of the notification by approving the DPC recommendations.
Federal Teacher Organizations’ leaders, namely Fazal Mola, Malik Ameer Khan, Mansoor Shah, and others, have expressed appreciation to the Secretary of Education, emphasizing teachers’ fundamental right to development, which enhances their performance.
According to the notification, 13 principals were elevated to Grade 21, 90 assistant professors to Grade 19, and 173 vice principals to Grade 19. Additionally, 103 assistant professors and principals were promoted to Grade 20, while 8 deputy headmistresses were also elevated to Grade 20.
In a joint statement, teacher leaders Fazal Mollah, Malik Amir Khan, and Mansoor Ali Shah commended Secretary Education Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani for granting teachers their fundamental rights through promotions. They noted that the Secretary of Education has introduced significant reforms in the education system, whose positive outcomes will soon manifest.
They further stated that empowering institutional heads will serve as a crucial milestone for enhancing employees’ performance in institutions. The teachers also extended their gratitude to Senior Joint Secretary Sohail Akhtar Malik, Director Promotion Muhammad Luqman, SO Promotion Rashid Marwat, and other relevant authorities.
