ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada launched a new set of digital services for the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA).
According to the details, the services include managing land and property records, a mobile app, geo-tagging, tendering through the PPRA e-PADS system, project monitoring, estate and finance management, account management, an online member portal, an online payment system, and a complaint portal for FGEHA residents.
The launch event was attended by Secretary Housing Dr. Shehzad Khan Bangash, Director General retired Captain Zafar Iqbal, senior officials, and other key stakeholders, according to a press release from the ministry.
During the event, Captain Zafar Iqbal, the FGEHA Director General, gave a presentation and noted that this was the first time in the organization’s 35-year history that such a modern digital initiative had been introduced.
The press release stated that Mr. Pirzada praised the efforts of the FGEHA team.
Separately, Secretary Housing Dr. Shehzad Khan Bangash retired from his position. The housing minister acknowledged Dr. Bangash’s contributions during his service.

A farewell ceremony was held at the housing ministry to mark Dr. Bangash’s retirement, where the minister recognized his dedication, professionalism, and important work during his tenure, according to the statement.
In another development, the government announced the creation of the Pakistan Digital Assets Authority (PDAA) to oversee and promote the virtual asset economy while following Financial Action Task Force (FATF) guidelines.
The Ministry of Finance stated that it is working on a plan to regulate digital assets and support the growth of Pakistan’s virtual asset economy. Based on recommendations from the Pakistan Cryptocurrency Council (PCC), the PDAA will regulate blockchain-based financial systems to ensure innovation, economic inclusion, and responsible use of digital assets in line with FATF standards, the ministry said.
Finance Minister and PCC Chairman Muhammad Aurangzeb said, “Pakistan needs to regulate not just to keep up, but to take a lead. With the PDAA, we are building a framework that protects consumers, attracts global investment, and positions Pakistan as a leader in financial innovation.”
