Punjab govt transfers, appoints 11 officers in grade 17 & 18

LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has announced the transfer and appointment of 11 officers in Grades 17 and 18.

According to the details, Rashid Iqbal, previously without a posting, is now Deputy Secretary in the School Education Department. Hafiz Irfan Hameed, who was Deputy Secretary in the Specialised Healthcare Department, has been transferred, and his services are now under the Director General of the Urban and Town Planning Agency.

Naeem Siddiq Cheema, Deputy Secretary in the Irrigation Department South Punjab, has been moved to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). Ahmad Naveed, who was also awaiting a posting, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Irrigation Department South Punjab.

The transfer orders for Muzammil Ilyas, Deputy Secretary in the Local Government Department, issued on April 11, have been canceled. He will continue in his current role. M Abid, previously without a posting, has been appointed as a Member of the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team.

Sajid Munir, Deputy Secretary in the Energy Department, is now Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) in Khushab. Nauman Farooq, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) in Dera Ghazi Khan, has been transferred to the position of Deputy Secretary in the Energy Department.

Usman Munir Bukhari, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) in Vehari, has been reassigned to the same role in Dera Ghazi Khan. Babar Suleman, Deputy Secretary in the Special Education Department, is now Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) in Vehari.

Dr. Fayyaz Ali, who was awaiting a posting, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Special Education Department. The Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) issued the notification after approval from Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman.

Azfar Zia Appointed as Director General of Forests

The Punjab government has appointed Azfar Versace, previously Special Secretary in the Livestock & Dairy Development Department, South Punjab, as the new Director General (Forest) of Punjab. This is a newly created position, and the appointment takes effect immediately. The S&GAD issued the notification under the orders of the Punjab governor.

Promotions in Punjab Prisons Department

Separately, 41 officers from the Punjab Prisons Department have been promoted to Deputy Superintendent Jail (Grade-17). The Home Department, following instructions from the Secretary Home Punjab, issued the promotion orders.

The promoted officers, moving from Assistant Superintendent to Deputy Superintendent (Grade-17), include: Shehzad Hussain (Judicial District Jail Sialkot), Shehzad Ahmad (Executive High Security Prison Mianwali), Hafiz M Rizwan (Executive District Jail Jhang), Tasawwar Iqbal (Judicial District Jail Okara), Khawar Abbas (Judicial District Jail Narowal), M Iftikhar Naeem (Education Lahore), M Shehbaz (Development District Jail Sheikhupura), Ulfat Naeem (Central Jail Rawalpindi), M Ashfaq (District Jail Kasur), Irfan Ali (District Jail Layyah), M Asghar (District Jail Lodhran), M Younis (Regional Office Sahiwal), M Ahmad (Central Jail Sahiwal), Farrukh Zeeshan (Inspectorate of Prisons), Sarfraz Khan (District Jail Bhakkar), Asghar Ali (Regional Office Faisalabad), Abid Ali (District Jail Sheikhupura), Anees Rana (District Jail Okara), M Irfan (Central Jail Gujranwala), Ahmad Bilal (Inspectorate of Prisons), M Iqbal (District Jail Bahawalnagar), M Saqib (District Jail Faisalabad), Mohsin Ameen (District Jail Toba Tek Singh), Naveed Liaqat (Central Jail Lahore), Abdul Shakoor (Sub Jail Shujaabad), Amir Abbas (District Jail Gujrat), Ali Afraz (Central Jail Sahiwal), Yasir Hussain (Central Jail Faisalabad), Naveed Ahmad (District Jail Kasur), Shehzad Aslam (District Jail Mandi Bahauddin), Ahmar Siddiqui (High Security Prison Sahiwal), M Zubair (District Jail Hafizabad), Nouman Ilyas (Central Jail DG Khan), Hafiz M Qamar Abbas (Inspectorate of Prisons), and Amir Bashir (District Jail Attock). These officers will continue working at their current locations.

Additionally, the following Assistant Superintendents have also been promoted to Grade-17, with their posting orders to be issued later: Waseem Abbas (District Jail Okara), Nadeem Iqbal (District Jail Lahore), M Arif Khalid (District Jail Rajanpur), Sajjad Haider (District Jail Sheikhupura), Saqib Javed (District Jail Khanewal), and M Umar Farooq (District Jail Sheikhupura).

A Punjab Home Department spokesperson said that the government is promoting eligible officers on time, following its policy and rules.
