QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Sarfraz Bugti announced that the provincial government has developed its first social media policy, set to be introduced soon.
During a meeting with social media influencers, Bugti encouraged young people to help show a positive side of Balochistan and asked influencers to support social harmony and national unity. He noted the strong role of social media today and the need to guide youth properly.

“Social media has a big impact. It can be used for good or spread false information,” Bugti said. He recognized that social media allows for accountability and helpful feedback but can also mislead young people.

“We welcome useful feedback and will use it to improve our work,” he said, adding that issues raised online would be handled constructively.
Bugti promised influencers that their suggestions, along with those from other social media users, would be considered for the new policy. The government is focused on providing jobs, education, and awareness for youth and plans to use social media to support these goals.
“Our aim is to stop negative misinformation and make social media a tool for progress,” Bugti said. He stressed the need for policies that fit the digital age.
