LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced the official holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 and issued a notification for it.
The notification was released after approval from the Chief Secretary of Punjab. According to the Punjab government’s notification, there will be three holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr. The holidays will be from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 2.
Section Officer Welfare Adil Umar issued the notification with the approval of the Chief Secretary of Punjab.
Punjab Government Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 Official Holidays:
Lahore and all of Punjab will have three holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025. According to the official notification, the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays will be from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 2.

Similarly, the federal government has also announced the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. The federal government has declared three holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr, from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 2.
The Cabinet Division has issued a notification for these public holidays. However, other provinces have not yet announced their Eid holidays.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted the sighting of the Shawwal moon and the date for Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Meteorological Department has said that Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be on Monday, March 31, in Pakistan.
According to the department, the Shawwal moon will be born on March 29 at 3:58 AM. On March 30, at the time of sighting, the moon will be about 27 hours old and will remain visible in the sky for 70 minutes after sunset. A moon that is 20 hours old can be seen directly with the naked eye.
The department also stated that a moon aged 16 to 18 hours can be seen with a telescope. Therefore, there is a good chance the moon will be visible to the naked eye on March 30.
