KARACHI – The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that all banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks (MFBs) will remain closed to the public on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, due to a scheduled bank holiday.
Although branches will not offer public dealing on that day, bank staff will still be required to attend offices as per normal routine. The SBP has advised customers to plan their transactions in advance to avoid inconvenience.
This holiday coincides with the start of the new financial year and is part of the State Bank’s annual holiday schedule. Such closures are observed every year for administrative purposes. Customers who need to carry out urgent transactions are advised to use digital banking options like mobile apps, internet banking, and ATMs.
Banking sources said that the SBP has directed all banks to keep their digital services running smoothly during the holiday. With more people in Pakistan now using online banking, these steps are meant to ensure that both individuals and businesses can continue their financial activities without any major disruption.
