ISLAMABAD: Security forces have foiled an attempt to smuggle a large shipment of foreign weapons from Afghanistan into Pakistan along the Pak-Afghan border.
According to a private TV report, the operation took place on January 8 at the Ghulam Khan border terminal, which connects to the Pak-Afghan border. Security forces seized a truck carrying weapons. Sources say the truck was carrying modern foreign-made weapons and magazines, which were hidden in secret compartments inside the driver’s cabin.
The recovered weapons included 26 M16 rifles, 292 magazines for M16 and M4 rifles, over 10,000 rounds of ammunition, 9 magazines for Kalashnikovs, and 244 bullets. In addition, 744 rounds for a light machine gun and a large number of linkers were also found.

Defense experts believe the presence of the Kharijites and associated terrorists in Afghanistan is clear evidence of the collaboration between Afghan Taliban and Kharijites.
They say Afghan checkpoints are helping the Kharijites. The recovery of the weapon shipment shows that these activities are being carried out under the protection of the Afghan Taliban.
Experts further state that Pakistan opened its border terminals to ease the economic difficulties of Afghan citizens. However, Afghan Taliban and Kharijites are increasing terrorism, which harms the Afghan people.
They also added that such actions have made life even more difficult for Afghan traders, who are already economically weak. For the benefit of ordinary Afghan citizens, it is necessary for them to demand action against the Kharijites from the Afghan Taliban.
