Washington: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Congressman Thomas Richard Suozzi and Congressman Jack Bergman in Washington. Suozzi is from the Democratic Party, while Bergman belongs to the Republican Party. Both are members of the Pakistan Caucus, with Bergman serving as the co-chair.
The meeting discussed issues of mutual interest, Pakistan-U.S. relations, and the situation in Afghanistan. Both sides agreed to strengthen ties between Pakistan and the U.S.
Minister Naqvi invited the Congressmen to visit Pakistan. He said the U.S. is an important economic and defense partner for Pakistan. He added that Pakistan values U.S. cooperation in improving its social sectors and seeks more collaboration in all areas.
Congressman Suozzi expressed his commitment to strengthening relations with Pakistan and said he plans to visit soon.
The meeting also decided to hold the Pakistan Caucus Conference in Washington, D.C., on April 30. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the U.S., Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, was also present.
