Winter break dates announced for Islamabad schools and colleges

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced winter holidays for public educational institutions in Islamabad.

According to notifications issued by the FDE, all schools and colleges will have holidays from December 30, 2024, to January 8, 2025. Educational activities will resume on January 9, 2025.

In a notification issued to the heads of educational institutions, the FDE instructs them to develop comprehensive plans for improving educational quality during the holidays. It should be noted that the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) oversees public schools and colleges in Islamabad.

Earlier, the Punjab Education Department released a new winter holiday schedule for schools across the province. All public and private educational institutions will have holidays from December 23, 2024, to January 12, 2025, according to this new schedule.

Private educational institutions in Islamabad have already announced winter holidays in the Federal Capital. The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) had released a winter holiday schedule for all private educational institutions in the Federal Capital.

All private schools and colleges in Islamabad will be closed from December 21, 2024, to January 5, 2025, according to a notification issued by PEIRA on December 20, 2024. Educational activities will resume on January 6, 2025. The notification said the decision would apply to all private educational institutions under the Islamabad Capital Territory Private Educational Institutions (Registration and Regulation) Act 2013.
