PAK vs ENG: Rawalpindi traffic schedule announced for test match

ISLAMABAD: The third Test match between Pakistan and England cricket teams will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 24 to 28, and traffic police have issued an advisory for citizens regarding traffic during this period.

As per advisory issued by the traffic police, during the third Test match and practice sessions between the Pakistan and England cricket teams, traffic will be stopped on Murree Road, Srinagar Highway, and Nith Avenue during the teams’ transit hours.

The traffic police have requested citizens to choose alternative routes to avoid any travel problems and to travel with extra time in mind.

It should be remembered that in the series of three Test matches between the Pakistan and England cricket teams, both teams have won one match each so far.

According to a media report, the third and decisive Test between Pakistan and England is scheduled in Rawalpindi from October 24, for which both teams have reached Islamabad from Multan yesterday.

Like Multan, Rawalpindi is also preparing a pitch to help spinners. The visiting team has an advantage over the Pakistani team at Rawalpindi Stadium. The last Test between Pakistan and England was played here from December 1-5, 2022, in which Ben Stokes’ XI won by seventy-four runs.

Pakistan entered the field with pacers Naseem Shah, Muhammad Ali, and Haris Rauf, while spinners Zahid Mahmood, Salman Agha, and Saud Shakeel did their duties. England won the toss and batted first, scoring 657 in the first innings, which included four centuries.

Openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley provided a stand of 233 runs. Ben Duckett scored 107 runs, while Zak Crawley played an innings of 122 runs. Ollie Pope was dominant over the Pakistani bowlers with 108 runs. Harry Brook scored 100 runs, playing an important role in stabilizing his team’s position.

On behalf of Pakistan, Zahid Mahmood took four wickets, Naseem Shah took three wickets, Muhammad Ali took two wickets, while Haris Rauf took one wicket. In reply, Babar Azam’s XI managed to score 589 runs. Abdullah Shafiq was outstanding with 114, Imam-ul-Haq with 121, and Babar Azam with 136. Will Jacks took six wickets.
