According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Taimoor Khan, 931 traffic wardens, supervised by inspectors and DSPs, will be on duty on city roads to manage traffic flow during Muharram.

Taimoor Khan stated that Traffic Police Officers and Wardens have been instructed to take action against vehicles with tinted glasses, revolving lights, unregistered vehicles, motorcycles, and those with improper or fake number plates. Fork lifters will accompany the Muharram processions.

The CTO also instructed the wardens to remove all types of encroachments from the procession routes and to remain vigilant for any suspicious persons and items.

The CTO said that Traffic Police officials would be deployed alongside district police personnel to ensure the security of the mourners.

He said that the entry of vehicles on the procession route would be blocked by erecting barricades and other obstacles. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against any delinquent officials, the CTO said.

Taimoor informed that traffic would be diverted to alternate routes during the mourning processions. A control room will be established at Traffic Headquarters to monitor the situation, and motorists seeking help and assistance can use the CTP helpline 051-9272616.
