ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has warned of action and sanctions against non-filers after October 14, 2024.
As per tv channel report, FBR has received more than 392,000 income tax returns from taxpayers in the last week.
Federal Board of Revenue has warned that with only six days left in the extended deadline to file tax returns for 2024, the process will begin after the deadline passes.
According to FBR data, the number of tax return filers has crossed 4,030,000. Tax of more than 105 billion rupees has also been collected. An increase of 1,974,344 has been recorded in the number of tax return filers this year compared to last year.

Since July 1, 392,884 new people have also registered in the tax system. A total of 1,480,545 people have declared their taxable income as zero, while the FBR states that if non-filers do not submit their returns by October 14, legal action will be taken against them.
They may be banned from buying property and vehicles, traveling abroad, having mobile SIMs, and their electricity connections may be disconnected.
