KARACHI: All schools and colleges in Sindh will be closed on March 22, 2025, which is a Saturday. This is because it is the 21st of Ramadan, a day known as Youm-e-Ali, marking the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA).
As per the official notification issued by the Sindh Government, the education department has said that both public and private institutions managed by the School Education and Literacy Department will stay closed on this day.
The decision to declare this holiday was made by a sub-committee of Sindh’s steering committee on education.
Youm-e-Ali happens every year on the 21st of Ramadan, and people across the country hold large processions to remember Hazrat Ali (RA).

In an other news, the Sindh Government has started a scholarship program for 2025 to support many students from minority communities and help them continue their education.

A private TV channel report says the provincial minority affairs department requires students to have passed last year’s exams with at least 50% marks. They must belong to minority communities and be permanent residents of Sindh.
The scholarships are for students whose parents earn Rs35,000 or less monthly. Each selected student will get Rs25,000. This program aims to assist students from low-income families and promote education for all in the region.
