ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s young mountaineer, Shehroze Kashif, has created new history by becoming the youngest Pakistani to climb all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters.

The 22-year-old Shehroze Kashif accomplished this feat today while climbing the 8,027-meter-high Shishapangma. Shehroze Kashif, popularly known as ‘Broadboy’, reached the summit of Sheshapangma this morning.

He is the second Pakistani, after Sarbaz Khan, to have climbed all 14 highest peaks. Sarbaz achieved the honor of becoming the first Pakistani mountaineer to achieve this feat by summiting Shisha Panmaga last week.

Shehroze Kashif journey to summit the Eight Thousand began in 2019 when he summited the 8,047-meter Broad Peak at the age of just 17. It was a brilliant start that made him famous internationally.

In 2021, Shehroze summited Mount Everest, Manaslu, and K-2, while in 2022, Shehroze Kashif reached the summits of Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum I, and Gasherbrum II. His streak of excellence continued, and last year he summited Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Cho Oyu.

However, it is worth noting that Shehroze Kashif missed out on climbing Sheshapangma last year due to an accident. If he had succeeded in climbing Sheshapangma then, he would have become the youngest mountaineer in the world to have completed all 14 eight-thousanders.

Shehroze Kashif shared his happiness about his success and said that it was not easy for him to do all this.

“I knew it was going to be very hard, and the danger of losing my life was real, but I stayed focused on the goal—now that I’m standing here, I realize that this success is not just about climbing mountains,” Shehroze said. “It’s about beating fear, doubt, and limits. For me, it’s nothing short of a miracle.”
